HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Angelina Jolie is planning to return to the big screen, but blink and you may miss her.
Speaking from the red carpet at Thursday night's 14th annual Critics' Choice Awards held at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, Jolie told The Associated Press that she wants to keep a low profile and focus on raising her six children.
"I have had a year off, and I may work for a few months," said the 33-year-old actress. "But if I do, I'm probably going to take another year and a half or two. I'm going to work a lot less."
Jolie, who welcomed baby twins Vivienne and Knox last July with her beau Brad Pitt, did not elaborate on what projects she currently has planned. The superstar couple is also proud parents to three adopted children — Maddox, 6, Pax, 4, and Zahara, 3, as well as biological daughter, Shiloh, 2.
While she plans to focus on motherhood in the next year or so, Jolie also told the BBC last November that she doesn't plan to work much longer as it is.
"I don't plan on acting very long," she said. "I'm ready to do a few things now and fade away and get ready to be a grandma one day."
"I'm not so worried that I want to try to keep up this pace and try to be a celebrity and try to be a successful actress forever," Jolie continued. "I think it's nice to tell stories and be successful enough to tell the ones I want to tell, and to earn some money at the same time is great. But everything comes in seasons and I hopefully won't be needing to do that later in my life."
