Lauren Conrad was born in Laguna Beach, Calif. and has a younger sister named Breanna.

In 2004, Conrad rose to fame during her senior year of high school in 2004 as she became a fan favorite on the MTV reality series "Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County."

Upon graduation, Conrad attended the Academy of Art University in San Francisco for one semester before returning back home to study at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles. The move, along with Conrad's new job as a Teen Vogue intern, would become the subject of a "Laguna Beach" spinoff  called "The Hills."

Joined by fellow core cast members Whitney Port, Audrina Patridge, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, Conrad's new reality series, which followed her pursuit of a fashion career, debuted in May 2006. "The Hills" would become an immediate hit and launch Conrad to stardom.
