Sara Paxton was born in Woodland Hills, Calif. She started acting at the age of six and has racked up an impressive list of film, television and commercial credits over the years.
Paxton started her career doing commercial and musical theater work as a child. She landed her first film role at the age of eight, starring alongside Jim Carrey in 1997's "Liar, Liar."
During the late 1990s and early 2000s, Paxton appeared in a number of minor television and film roles, including a guest starring role on the Disney Channel show, "Lizzie McGuire," where she played an ex-president of Lizzie's school, and a regular role on the series "Greetings from Tucson." She also appeared on such shows as "NewsRadio," "CSI," "Malcolm in the Middle," "SpongeBob SquarePants," "Will & Grace" and "Summerland." In 2004, she landed the title role in the weekly Discovery Kids' series "Darcy's Wild Life."
On the heels of her 2004 film "Sleepover," Paxton achieved further notoriety by playing a mermaid in the 2006 tween-sensation movie "Aquamarine."
In addition to her talents on screen, Paxton is also a very talented singer, having been signed to a record deal with Epic Records. Her music has been featured on several soundtracks, including "Aquamarine," "Alvin and the Chipmunks" and "Superhero Movie."
