HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — After a five-year hiatus, No Doubt is preparing to hit the road again.
The band announced plans for a summer concert tour Wednesday on their official Web site, with gigs planned for outdoor amphitheaters and arenas.
"The whole reason for going on this tour was to have fun, try on all our favorite songs again and to get inspired to make new music," said lead singer Gwen Stefani, who released two solo albums and became a mother of two with husband Gavin Rossdale during the hiatus. "It feels good to be all together again."

Kicking off in May, it will be the band's first tour since a 2004 trek with Blink-182. Exact dates and venues for the tour are expected to announced soon.
"Now that five years have passed, the excitement level for us is extremely high," said drummer Adrian Young. "We are so fresh and ready! I feel like a kid again when rehearsing these songs."
The band also announced that Paramore will be joining them on the tour. In addition, a second opening act slot will be shared by The Sounds, Janelle Monae and Bedouin Sounclash.
"What a dream tour! We couldn't be more excited to kick off 2009 by touring with a band like No Doubt," said Paramore singer Hayley Williams in the statement on No Doubt's Web site.
As for fans planning to join in the summer fun, No Doubt bassist Tony Kanal offered some words of advice.
"Get there early," he said. "This is going to be a great night from the moment the lights go down."
