HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — An attorney for Bruce Willis has expressed outrage over a $4 million breach of contract lawsuit filed against the actor and his production company, Willis Brother Films.
According to The Associated Press, the suit was filed Friday by plaintiffs Foresight Unlimited, Signature Entertainment Group and Three Stories Productions. They allege the 53-year-old Willis signed a deal to star in and direct the feature, "Three Stories About Joan, only to quit last year on Sept. 29.
In a statement to Us Weekly, Willis' attorney, Marty Singer, said the lawsuit "is frivolous and has no merit."
"In over three decades of practice, I have rarely seen such an absurd lawsuit," said Singer in the statement. "The production companies admitted they did not have the financing in place for the film, failed to pay members of the cast and crew, and failed to deposit Bruce Willis' compensation in escrow, which resulted in the film not going forward."
Singer told the mag that Willis intends to file his own action against the producers in the near future.
