HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — "Melrose Place" has another tenant.
Katie Cassidy has signed on to star in the CW's upcoming remake of the hit '90s primetime soap.
The 22-year-old daughter of former "Patridge Family" star David Cassidy has been cast as Ella Flynn, an up-and-coming publicist who is both sexy and stylish.
Cassidy joins the previously cast Michael Rady, who will star as the aspiring filmmaker Jonah Miller.
A relative newcomer, Cassidy's past television experience includes recurring roles on the CW's "Supernatural" and the WB's "7th Heaven."
Another individual who could be moving in soon is Mischa Barton. A source close to Barton told Access Hollywood that the former "O.C." star is currently in talks to join the series.
"She's excited about the possibility," said the source.
The original "Melrose Place" ran on Fox for seven seasons until 1999.
