HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Mischa Barton is baring it all.
The 23-year-old actress strips down for the May cover of U.K. Cosmo, a feat that comes after Barton faced criticism last year over an apparent weight gain.
"Surely there are more important issues than if someone has cellulite?" the former "O.C." star tells the mag. "And I don't understand the point of people looking for bad things. Why bother? I know it's human nature to want to pick on other people, but I find it a little shallow."
Barton says she slimmed down to a size 6 or 8 after her September breakup from rocker Taylor Locke.
"The only way to be happy and be a more enjoyable person to be around is to embrace what you've got," says Barton, who dipped from a size 12. "Everyone has issues about their body, but I feel confident now. I'm healthy and happy."
Barton, who was recently cast in the CW pilot "A Beautiful Life," is enjoying her freedom these days and insists there's no rush to find another boyfriend.
"I've grown so much in the past six months," she says. "It's because I've been single. I've forced myself to grow up – I really felt like it was time. And nothing makes you grow like finding out that somebody or something isn't good for you."
