HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Tori Spelling has heard the ongoing rumors that her remarkably thin frame is due to anorexia, so she's thankful to have a support system in husband Dean McDermott.
"He just kept reassuring me, 'I think you're beautiful and perfect no matter what you weigh, I just want you to be healthy," the 35-year-old Spelling tells People of the actor's encouraging words while rumors floated.
The couple married in 2006 and have two children together, son Liam, 2, and daughter Stella, 10 months. Spelling tells the mag that the pressures of Hollywood have certainly played a part in her wanting to shed the pounds.
"I knew as soon as I left the house a week, even two weeks after giving birth, [to daughter Stella] people are going to take pictures and scrutinize," she explains. "Whereas mothers everywhere don't even think about losing the weight for a year. It was hard to find that balance of what's acceptable."
The "90210" star is steadfast in assuring the public that she doesn't have an eating disorder. She insists that her weight loss is from hard work, both in the gym and by maintaining a healthy diet of three balanced meals a day, which are most comprised of organic products.
"After I had Liam, the weight didn't just fly right off. I had to diet and exercise," she says.
While more prepared the second time around, Spelling admits there are limits when it comes to whipping yourself into shape.
"When I had Stella, I remember looking at Jessica Alba [after she gave birth] and thinking, 'Wait a minute, it flew right off her,' " she says. "Then I read that she works out six days a week and I'm like, 'Oh God, no, I can't do that.' "
