The longtime lovers got married on Saturday in Brindisi, Italy.

"We are happy to confirm that Maggie and Peter were married on Saturday, May 2," said Gyllenhaal's rep in a statement to People.

Gyllenhaal, 31, and Sarsgaard, 38, tied the knot at a small chapel at the luxury hotel Masseria. Among the guests were the actress's younger brother, actor Jake Gyllenhaal, and his girlfriend, actress Reese Witherspoon.

Gyllenhaal and Sarsgaard, who is a close friend of Jake's, have dated since 2002. They announced their engagement in April 2006.

The pair, who co-starred in 2003's "In God's Hands," have a 2-year-old daughter named Ramona.
