HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Jessica Simpson is about to get a little sexier.
The 27-year-old star has announced plans to release a lingerie line called Jessica Simpson’s Intimates.
“I like different lingerie for different occasions. I think that’s the best thing about it. You can feel sexy or girly depending on your mood,” Simpson told Women’s Wear Daily.
“It is the first thing you put on. If you start with something that fits correctly and is comfortable and fashionable, it will only complement your look,” she added.
The new line, which will include bras, underwear and pajamas, is expected to hit retail shelves in Spring 2009.
Simpson already has an extensive fashion portfolio that includes shoes, sunglasses, swimsuits and handbags.
The former reality TV star is also enjoying success in her music career, thanks in part to a return to her country music roots. Her latest single, “Come On Over,” has been well received and Simpson says she doesn’t plan to stray from her country passion anytime soon.
“I’m planning on making country [music] for the rest of my life,” she told The Tennessean. “I don’t want to go back to that other world.”
