LONDON — Martin Kelly, the husband of “Californication” star Natascha McElhone, was found dead Tuesday, Britain’s The Daily Mail newspaper reports.
The 42-year-old plastic surgeon’s body was discovered by a friend on the doorstep of the couple’s home in London. It is believed that he may have suffered a heart attack.
McElhone, 36, was filming outside the country at the time of her husband’s death. The actress, who also starred in “Ronin,” “The Truman Show” and “Solaris,” is said to be “devastated” by the death of Kelly, who was one of the top cosmetic surgeons in the U.K.
McElhone and Kelly were married on May 19, 1998. The couple has two sons, Theodore, 8, and Otis, 5. She is also currently pregnant with the couple’s third child.
“It’s still a mystery about the death,” the star’s stepfather, Roy Greenslade, told the Daily Mail. “It’s so unexpected. Such a fit, handsome, fighting fit young man of 42. So we are in a bit of a terrible state to be honest.”
