LOS ANGELES — Don Cornelius, the longtime host of the television show “Soul Train,” was arrested Friday night on suspicion of felony domestic violence, the Los Angeles Times reports.
Police were called to the 72-year-old’s home in the Hollywood Hills around 7:15 p.m., Officer Norma Eisenman told the Times.
LOS ANGELES — Don Cornelius, the longtime host of the television show “Soul Train,” was arrested Friday night on suspicion of felony domestic violence, the Los Angeles Times reports.
Police were called to the 72-year-old’s home in the Hollywood Hills around 7:15 p.m., Officer Norma Eisenman told the Times.
Cornelius was booked and later released on a $50,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in Los Angeles Superior Court on Nov. 14.
It was not immediately clear whom Cornelius was suspected of assaulting.
Cornelius, who was once a Chicago police officer, created the nationally-syndicated music and dance program in 1971. He also served as the show’s host until 1993.
