Following her appearance on “Next Best Thing,” Reid decided to relocate to Los Angeles in an effort to spend more time focused on her acting aspirations.

“I’m glad that I moved to L.A., because I feel that there are so many more opportunities here in showbiz, and also I feel I have a greater support system out here than I did in NYC,” said Reid, who graced the pages of Playboy magazine in September, 2006 for a spread titled, “One Night as Paris.” (while the real Paris is close to Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, she has continually refused to pose herself).

“The biggest challenge for me since moving to L.A. has literally been to be or not to be,” continued Reid. “To always be recognized as the girl that plays Paris, or to start completely from the beginning and totally change my image, to the point that people won’t recognize me so that I don’t get typecast and have to deal with people judging me before they know me.”

Since her arrival on the West Coast, Reid has been taking acting lessons at David Kagen’s School of Film Acting. She can currently be seen starring in Puddle of Mudd’s hit new music video, “Psycho.”

“I was totally shocked and flattered that they wanted me in their video,” she said. “I remember being 17 years old and listening to them in my apartment in Calgary, Canada. I think I had a crush on this guy at the time and the song reminded me of him. I used to listen to them a lot!”

“That’s the most exciting thing about the industry,” Reid continued. “Just meeting and working together with all these celebs and bands that influenced me when I was younger. I worked on a comedy with David Spade and it was really neat to work with him, because as a child I remember watching all of his movies and I was definitely a huge fan!”

Asked if she was worried that her fans might be upset, Reid said she isn’t sure what the public reaction will be.

“I don’t know how the fans will react, but hopefully they will be supportive and excited for something new,” she said. “I’m still the same, fun person that entertained them.”

Reid said there is one thing that she is certain of, and that is that she isn’t worried about Paris following in her dark-rooted footsteps.

“No, I don’t believe that she will be dying her hair brown,” Reid said, laughing. “I think she likes the blonde hair, blue-eyed look, and that’s what the world knows her for.”
