LOS ANGELES — Lindsay Lohan has been named as a suspect in connection with a missing $35,000 Rolex watch, TMZ reports.
Police tell the celebrity news source they have photographic evidence proving the 23-year-old Lohan knows the location of the missing watch. The item in question reportedly belongs to one of the troubled star’s "friends," who left the pricey Rolex behind at her house earlier this year.
Lohan reportedly denied stealing the watch when police questioned her at home on Wednesday.
"The allegations are completely untrue," her lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, tells TMZ.
No arrests have been made, but the incident is just the latest drama to surround the starlet. On Thursday, her estranged father, Michael Lohan, showed up at her house with the cops to perform a welfare check on his youngest daughter Ali, 16, who is staying with the actress. The cops left a short while later after interviewing Ali and determining she was safe, but the damage was already done as far as Lindsay was concerned.
"I have no choice but to make this public, due to my sister’s safety, as well as my own. My ex-dad just WALKED INTO MY APT like the devil’s advocate with officers," she posted on Twitter shortly after the police visit.
An hour later, Lindsay took to Twitter again to let off some more steam.
"let’s not forget, that my father KIDNAPPED me from a COURT ROOM when i was 4 years old and is CRAZY," she wrote. "he has NEVER paid child support, and is marrying a tabloid writer and can barely spell his own name due to his "brain" that has been ruined due to HIS drug use.
"when will it ever end… it’s been going on my whole life with him-hasn’t he caused enough pain? thank g-d for my mommy… w/out her, i wouldn’t even know myself."
It is the latest in a string of very public showdowns between Lindsay and Michael, who has been pushing his daughter to enter rehab over fears she’s abusing drugs. Michael tells Hollyscoop that he’s concerned Lindsay has been taking Ali out partying with her, noting a weekend trip to Coachella in which they reportedly drove back to L.A. at speeds in excess of 100 mph.
"Ali is being exposed to nightlife and the people Lindsay is surrounding herself with," he said, noting that he plans to meet with Lindsay’s attorney in an effort to become a conservator over her affairs. "[Lindsay] needs help and I won’t stop until she get it."
