UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. — The Twilight Saga: New Moon dominated Sunday night’s 2010 MTV Movie Awards, taking home five golden popcorn statues, including Best Movie.
The vampire film also scored victories for star Robert Pattinson, who won two statues for Best Male Performance and MTV’s newest category Global Superstar, in recognition of his universal appeal. His co-star, Kristen Stewart, also won Best Female Performance for the second straight year.
The Hangover grabbed two awards, with Zach Galifianakis winning Best Comedic Performance and Ken Jeong being honored with Best WTF Moment.
Other notable winners included Anna Kendrick, won won Best Breakout Star for her performance in Up In The Air, and Tom Felton, who took home the Best Villain award for his role as Draco Malfoy in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
Sandra Bullock made her first televised appearance since splitting with husband Jesse James in March. The actress, who was on hand to accept the MTV Generation Award, caused a splash when she kissed Scarlett Johansson at the ceremony.
Aziz Ansari hosted the bleep-filled event, which was held at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, Calif.
