LOS ANGELES — Charlie Sheen’s plea deal with prosecutors over his domestic violence arrest could be going up in smoke.

Sheen’s expected sentencing was postponed Monday after the actor learned that the terms of the deal would prohibit him from smoking while performing his community service at Theatre Aspen, a source told The Aspen Times.

"The whole thing hinged on his ability to smoke," explained the insider, who said the terms were unacceptable to Sheen and his legal team.

In addition to the community service, the Two and a Half Men star is also expected to serve a 30-day jail sentence.

A new hearing has now been set for July 12 in order to allow the two sides enough time to hash out an agreement.

Sheen, 44, has pleaded not guilty to menacing, criminal mischief and assault charges stemming from the incident, in which he allegedly held a knife to wife Brooke Mueller’s throat during a holiday getaway.

Mueller and Sheen, who tied the knot in May 2008, welcomed their first children, twin boys, last year.
