Uma Thurman Radiates Swedish Pride

Uma Thurman pays tribute to her Swedish heritage this week at the Efva Attling U.S. launch in NYC, where she will only talk about one thing – Sweden!

“I’m half Swedish, yes,” the actress, 41, tells me. “That means my mother’s Swedish. I basically grew up almost as an ex-pat in America, so Swedish culture is very near and dear to me.”

She continues, “We celebrated holidays in the European way growing up. That’s why I wanted to come down and support a Swedish designer.”

Uma heads inside to mix and mingle with guests, who enjoy Swedish meatballs, goat cheese with dried tomato and deliciously smooth Swedish chocolates from Chokolad Fabriken.

Brushing her long locks aside, she shows off the designer’s rose petal yellow gold earrings. Nice!

Efva Attling is just now opening her boutique in the U.S., but is one of Sweden’s leading designers. Her line is carried in 10 countries at 150+ retailers.
