Universal Pictures is finalizing a deal with John Orloff (Anonymous) to pen the Battlestar Galactica remake. Here’s what the writer had to say about joining this sci-fi project.
“I have wanted to write this movie since I was 12 years old, and built a Galactica model from scratch out of balsa wood, cardboard, old model parts and LEDs. I love BSG, and I would pass on the job rather than frak it up.”
This movie will be a theatrical remake of the original 1978 Battlestar Galactica TV series, and not the more recent Battlestar Galactica reboot, which aired on Syfy. The show focuses on a space ship containing some of the last surviving humans, as they try to find their way back to Earth.
Bryan Singer is directing Battlestar Galactica, although it isn’t known when production may begin. Bryan Singer indicated earlier this week that Battlestar Galactica is one of his top priorities.
