Premium Rush Pushed to Summer 2012

Premium Rush bumped to August 2012

David Koepp‘s Sony thriller Premium Rush, not to be confused with Ron Howard‘s Formula 1 racing biopic Rush, has been pushed from January 13th of next year to August 24th, giving it a prime slab of late summer real estate not currently occupied by any other movie.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt stars in Premium Rush as an NYC bike messenger who gets embroiled in a high stakes chase with a dirty cop after picking up an envelope at Columbia University.

Sony’s Here Comes the Boom has also swapped out it release date, trading its summer slot of July 27th with the fall spot October 12th. Kevin James and Salma Hayek star in this comedy about a biology teacher moonlighting as a Mixed Martial Artist to raise funds for his school’s music program. The script is rumored to have been salvaged from a discarded episode idea for Glee.

Premium Rush comes to theaters August 24th, 2012 and stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jamie Chung, Michael Shannon, Dania Ramirez, Aasif Mandvi, Nick Damici, Aaron Tveit, Lauren Ashley Carter. The film is directed by David Koepp.

Here Comes the Boom comes to theaters October 12th, 2012 and stars Salma Hayek, Kevin James, Joe Rogan, Bas Rutten. The film is directed by Frank Coraci.
