Usher premiered his new holiday duet with Justin Bieber, The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire), on Monday’s edition of On Air with Ryan Seacrest.
Usher said “it’s amazing” to see Justin’s continued success, and the dignified manner in which he’s doing it.
“Not only how seriously he takes it, but also just how much he loves his fans,” the My Boo singer explained of his young protégé. “He is also really growing as an artist … you can get lost in this, but he is growing.”

Usher credited Seacrest for his ability to gauge the public’s wants, as he said Seacrest predicted great success for Bieber at a time other radio outlets were skeptical of the kid’s marketability.
“Every time I think about those conversations, and the people who really believed from the beginning,” Usher said. “I really understand where the foundation is. I just wanted to say thank you.”
“It worked out, didn’t it?” Seacrest joked.
Usher said Bieber’s holiday album “is going to be remembered for years to come — it’s a record that has always been on of my favorites, and I’m happy that I was able to share it with Justin, and for us to put it out.
