Last week, we reported that Warner Bros. Pictures was planning to attach a six-minute prologue for The Dark Knight Rises to IMAX prints of Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol. And now, AMC Theatres is confirming the rumor and adds that the prologue will only screen at 70mm IMAX screens and not at digital IMAX locations.
Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol will open in IMAX theaters on December 16, five days ahead of its general wide release on December 21.
Warner Bros. employed a similar tactic in December 2007, when it attached the opening minutes of The Dark Knight to prints of I Am Legend.
The Dark Knight Rises comes to theaters July 20th, 2012 and stars Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt. The film is directed by Christopher Nolan.
Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol comes to theaters December 21st, 2011 and stars Tom Cruise, Ving Rhames, Jeremy Renner, Josh Holloway, Paula Patton, Simon Pegg, Vladimir Mashkov, Michael Nyqvist. The film is directed by Brad Bird.
