Warner Bros. has acquired movie rights for the new young adult fantasy novel The Scorpio Races. The novel is written by Mary Alexandra Stiefvater for David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith at KatzSmith Productions.
The book involves mythological flesh-eating horses from Celtic lore, a scraggy island that hosts an annual race, a young horse trainer and a young woman (the first female to enter the competition) who eventually fall for each other.
The project is still in development.
