Actor Gary Oldman is currently shooting The Dark Knight Rises for Warner Bros., and the studio wants him to star in two upcoming projects, Arthur & Lancelot and Akira.
Warner Bros. wants Gary Oldman to play Merlin in Arthur & Lancelot, which recently added Joel Kinnaman to the cast as Lancelot. David Dobkin is directing Arthur & Lancelot from his own screenplay, which is a reimagined version of the King Arthur and Sir Lancelot tales.
We reported last week that Gary Oldman was offered The Colonel role in Akira. It isn’t known yet if the actor will accept either offer.
Arthur & Lancelot comes to theaters March 15th, 2013 and stars Joel Kinnaman. The film is directed by David Dobkin.
Akira comes to theaters in 2012 and stars Garrett Hedlund. The film is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra.
