He may be making movies for kids these days, but when Adam Sandler returns to his late night roots, he also brings back his raunchier side.
The veteran box office breaker has been making the rounds on the late night talk show circuit to promote his new “Jack & Jill,” and last night, he made a stop in his hometown of New York City to talk to David Letterman. Amongst the topics that came up: how he got the allegedly super-protective Tom Cruise to give his blessing to his wife, Katie Holmes, playing Sandler’s beau in the film.
“This is weird that my wife is going to be your wife in the movie, it’s very weird, it’s bizarre,” Sandler recalled Cruise saying. And his response? Something that especially pleased his own wife.
“It’s a PG movie, no worries, nothing is going to happen,” he told Cruise. “In fact, anything I do with your wife in the movie, you can do with my wife. So every morning I’d go to the set and hear ‘please do a love scene. Please slowly take your shirt off in that scene and rub her ever so tenderly.'”
The pleas, of course, came from Sandler’s own wife, who apparently wanted a piece of the “Mission: Impossible” star. Which makes perfect sense, when you listen to what Sandler had to say about their sex life — which, inadvertently, includes Elmo.
