Steven Soderbergh is eyeing latest muse Channing Tatum for the lead in The Man from U.N.C.L.E..
George Clooney was originally slated to star in this adaptation of the popular spy series from the 1960s. The actor has since bailed on the project.
An offer has not gone out to Channing Tatum at this time. His next film Haywire was directed by Steven Soderbergh, and the two are collaborating on a male stripper drama loosely based on Channing‘s time spent wallowing in the profession titled Magic Mike, which begins shooting soon.
The Man from U.N.C.L.E. comes to theaters in 2012. The film is directed by Steven Soderbergh.
