The Muppets are literally popping up everywhere these days and it’s no surprise why. Their big feature film, appropriately named “The Muppets,” hits theaters Wednesday, November 23rd and they are taking this time to shine!
Jason Segel, a self-proclaimed Muppet’s fanatic, is not only starring in the film alongside Amy Adams and Jim Henson’s most famous fuzzy friends, he wrote the script and spearheaded the entire Disney production.
It was no small feat for the 31-year-old actor to accomplish, but as he does the tour of talk shows to promote the film, one can’t help but notice the pure love this grown man feels for the lovable creatures that many of us have grown up watching.
So, it seems Segel isn’t alone. There was a laundry list of stars that were rumored to have jumped at the chance to appear in the film, including Selena Gomez, Neil Patrick Harris and Lady Gaga.
Segel chatted with Mix 106.5’s Jojo and Reagan, clearing up a few of the many cameo rumors. Although, there was some initial buzz that Lady Gaga would be a part of the film — an early version of the script was leaked suggested Mother Monster as a possible performance option — Segel verified to Jojo and Reagan that she is actually not a part of the film.
When asked about some of the famous faces we can expect to see gracing the big screen alongside Miss Piggy and Kermit, a very humble Segel responded, “The final list of cameos is unbelievable. Thereâs three Academy Award winners ⦠in a Muppet movie! Itâs like weâre doing âThe Departedâ or something. Itâs unbelievable.”
