Common Law Moves Season Premiere to Summer of 2012

Common Law shifts to a Summer 2012 premiere

A few weeks ago, we reported that the USA Network had set a Thursday, January 26 premiere date for its new series Common Law, which stars Michael Ealy and Warren Kole. It seems the network has had a change of heart, and will now debut Common Law sometime this summer.

The move is attributed to an exceedingly positive response to the pilot episode from focus groups and others who have seen it. The summer season is when the network normally rolls out its most popular shows, such as Burn Notice and Psych.

Common Law is currently shooting its 12-episode Season 1 in New Orleans. The show centers on two L.A.P.D. detectives (Michael Ealy and Warren Kole), who are ordered by their captain (Jack McGee) to attend couples counseling to work through their issues. Sonya Walger also stars as their counselor.

A specific premiere date wasn’t given for Common Law, which was created by Cormac Wibberley and Marianne Wibberley.
