The NBC series Law and Order: Special Victims Unit often takes a “ripped from the headlines” approach to the stories they tell on the show, but their latest effort resulted in Occupy Wall Street protesters invading the set. Take a look at a video taken from the Law and Order: Special Victims Unit occupation below.
The show was shooting a mock-up of the Occupy Wall Street camp in Manhattan’s Foley Square, when over 100 protesters occupied the set in less than an hour, some holding signs reading, ‘We are a movement, not a TV plot.’ As a result, the city pulled the show’s filming permit. NBC would not comment on the story.
Despite the havoc it caused to the production, Han Shan, a member of the Occupy Wall Street press team, stated their Law and Order: Special Victims Unit invasion was all in good fun.
It isn’t known how the disruption will affect this particular episode of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit.
