Jessica Simpson Co-Hosts ‘GMA’: Says Media Called Her ‘Octomom’ During Pregnancy (VIDEO)

Singer, actress, fashion designer, mom, Good Morning America co-host?

On Tuesday, Jessica Simpson took the honor of the very first guest co-host on ABC’s Good Morning America filling in for long time anchor Robin Roberts who is away on extended medical leave.

The multi-talented star even studied for her role joining “Team Robin” by learning how to tease guests within the hour and toss to the other anchors. In addition to using her many skills to host the show, Simpson, 32,  also sat down with one of them to discuss her fashion lines, life as a new mom and her post-baby weight loss.

So how did Simpson feel about the scrutiny her weight received during pregnancy?

The singer said she “got it all” when it came to comments about her weight gain leading up to the birth of Maxwell Drew. “I got quadruplets. I got Octomom.”

She didn’t let it get her down though. “A lot of people put pressure on me when I was pregnant,” Simpson recalls. “I was so excited about having Maxwell in my belly that I didn’t really pay much attention to it.”

“But now after having the baby, I’ve had to really, really focus and start training and I joined Weight Watchers.” The star joined the popular diet company as a spokeswoman in July signing a reported $4 million deal. On Monday, she told Katie Couric she has already lost more than 40 pounds.

In addition to focusing on her weight loss, Simpson was also inspired to expand her booming billion dollar clothing and shoe company by getting into the maternity and baby clothing market.

“I think everybody deserves to feel fashionable especially somebody that’s carrying a baby,” she said.

The Fashion Star mentor had primarily designed lines for juniors and tweens. So with fashion and her goals for weight loss taking up most of her time, what about her wedding to fiancé Eric Johnson?

Well, she says, “We haven’t started planning. We know what we want but we want Maxwell to be there and to enjoy it. We’re just going to get her through her first few months of her life and then do it. ”
