TV Buzz: ‘Walking Dead’ Alum Lands in ‘Dallas’; ‘Cougar Town’ Announces TBS Return Date

Emma Bell, who played Amy on The Walking Dead is headed to TBS’ Dallas. The actress will be a series regular and play a privileged girl who was raised by her grandmother on the remake’s second season. The role is rumored to be Ann Ewing’s (Brenda Strong) estranged daughter. [TVLine]

Grab your Big Carl wine glasses, Cougar Town Fans! The sitcom, which recently moved to TBS, announced it will return to TV on Jan. 8, 2013. The cast including Courteney Cox and Busy Phillips made the announcement in a hilarious music video full of tons of vino!! Chin Chin Fans! [EW]

After tying the record for the best daytime debut since Dr. Phil in 2002, Katie Couric’s talk show Katie was down slightly in the ratings in it’s second day. Despite an 18 percent decline, the show still bested all other new daytime talk shows on air. Ahead of the former today show anchor in the ratings race was old favorites Ellen and Dr. Phil. However, Dr. Phil took quite the tumble from last year dropping 48 percent in the ratings. [Deadline]

Remember that awesome 80s flick Heathers starring Winona Ryder and Christian Slater? No? Well, if you don’t, go watch it because Bravo is now developing the flick into a TV series. On the series, the character of Veronica Sawyer will head back to town with her daughter who must deal with the daughters of those “Heathers” who are still alive. This time they’re called the “Ashleys.”

The network also announced The Apartment (working title), about a beautiful Upper West Side apartment rented as a private space for extra-marital affairs; The Darlings (working title), set in Wall Street after the crash of 2008; All American Girl, centered around a female lifestyle magazine across three different time periods; and Rita, a family drama following an acerbic, outspoken private school teacher who struggles to raise her own three teenagers. Previously announced scripted projects at the network include The Joneses, 22 Birthdays (working title) and Blowing Sunshine. [Bravo]

Electronic giant Best Buy has teamed up with FOX’s The X Factor for a season-long partnership covering multiple platforms. As the exclusive consumer electronics sponsor of the show, the store will use the partnership for promotions, sales and events throughout the holiday shopping season.
