Kate Middleton evoked memories of the late Princess Diana during a visit to Malaysian mosque on Friday.
With her husband Prince William at her side, the demurely dressed Duchess of Cambridge covered up with a headscarf — just as the People’s Princess always did in line with religious protocol — to join a ceremony at As-Syakirin Mosque in Kuala Lumpur.
Before entering the place of worship, the pair had to remove their shoes — leaving Middleton walking in just her skin-colored stockings.
The stop was just the royal couple’s latest in their nine-day Diamond Jubilee Tour of South-East Asia, which next takes them to the Solomon Islands and Tuvalu before heading back home to the U.K.
But the Jubilee tour has been marred by a scandal that hit presses Friday morning.
Following Prince Harry‘s naked romp in Last Vegas, new royal nude photos have surfaced — this time, of Middleton.
French magazine Closer has published a series of revealing snaps showing the Duchess of Cambridge sunbathing topless during a private holiday within her husband. The snaps, confirmed as genuine by St. James’ Palace, seem to have been taken through a long-lens camera, catching Middleton lounging at the French chateau where the couple was staying.
The palace has since released a statement on the controversial photos, alleging the Duchess’ privacy was broached and suggesting “Their Royal Highnesses are consulting with lawyers to consider what options may be available,” according to Time. “The incident is reminiscent of the worst excesses of the press and paparazzi during the life of Diana, Princess of Wales, and all the more upsetting to The Duke and Duchess for being so,” the statement added.
But for now, it seems Middleton is putting the topless photo saga behind her, as she continues to be all smiles with Prince William on their Jubilee tour.
