Emmy awards season is now underway starting with Saturday’s Creative Arts Emmys at the NOKIA Theatre in Los Angeles.
HBO’s fantasy drama Game of Thrones led with the most awards for the night, taking home six trophies. Behind Game of Thrones with four Emmys each were Discovery’s Frozen Planet, PBS’ Great Expectations and NBC’s Saturday Night Live.
Which four actors took home trophies?
Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series went to Martha Plimpton for CBS’ The Good Wife; Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series went to Kathy Bates for CBS’ Two and a Half Men; Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series went to Jeremy Davies for FX’s Justified; and Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series went to Jimmy Fallon for NBC’s Saturday Night Live.
Sex columnist and MTV star Dan Savage and his partner Terry Miller accepted the Governors Award, which honors programming for social causes, for the It Gets Better Project.
CBS’ Undercover Boss took Outstanding Reality Program. And Comedy Central’s The Daily Show With Jon Stewart took home the award for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series.
Fans of Disney Channel’s Wizards of Waverly Place will be happy to hear that it received the award for Outstanding Children’s Program.
