Ryan Reynolds didn’t spare a dime when putting a ring on new wife Blake Lively.
Just a day after saying “I do” in a hush-hush ceremony, the newlyweds flaunted their wedded bliss in Charleston, South Carolina. And as she locked lips with her new husband, blushing bride Lively, 25, flashed her brand-new diamond wedding ring — a sparkler that cost her husband up to $2 million, a leading jeweler said.
“The ring is an oval cut diamond, roughly 12 ‘carat total weight’ (which describes the total weight in carats of all the diamonds in a piece of jewelry) depending on the way it was cut,” Adelaide Polk-Bauman, from Forevermark Diamonds, told Celebuzz.
“Depending on clarity and color, I would say at the minimum this retails for 1.2 million, but closer to 2 million,” she explained. “It looks particularly brilliant.”
So was the bling on display as Lively returned to work Monday?
There was no sign of the stunning rock, designed by jeweler to the stars Lorraine Schwartz, as the actress returned to filming on the New York City set of Gossip Girl.
Lively kept her left hand out of the spotlight as she shoot scenes for the sixth and final season of her hit teen drama.
The bauble features large center stone supported by a band of small diamonds, according to PEOPLE.
“Ryan chose Lorraine Schwartz to help him find a flawless, light pink oval diamond,” a spokesperson for the jeweler said. “They worked together to design a custom setting in rose gold and pave diamonds with a nod to deco.”
The engagement rock is complemented by Lively’s delicate rose-gold and diamond wedding band, also by Schwartz.
Reynolds, 35, and Lively tied the knot in front of family and friends — including Florence Welch and Bette Midler — during an intimate Sept. 9 wedding at the Boone Hall Plantation in Mount Pleasant, S.C., where the tear-jerking love story The Notebook was filmed.
