Jessica Capshaw is remaining tightlipped about what will transpire on the upcoming season of ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy.
With the lives of many of our favorite Seattle Grace Mercy West doctors in jeopardy after Season 8’s devastating plane crash finale, we needed to find out where her character Arizona stands. Speaking with the actress at the Variety and Women in Film pre-Emmy party in Beverly Hills, she remained mum on the topic.
“I have no idea what you’re going to see this season,” she said. “I mean I keep saying it and everyone’s been giving me grief about it. I don’t know that anyone’s going to be happy about it. It is what it is. It’s fantastic storytelling and it goes the mile.”
When we pushed her for any small tidbit of information, Capshaw insisted, “No one’s going to be happy. I’m telling you I can’t say anything.”
Unable to get any scoop from the actress, we talked to her about her favorite Emmy nominees. So who are they?
“Oh my gosh. I’m such a fan of television. I think there’s such unbelievable work being done on television right now,” said Capshaw, 36.
The actress noted that she was a bit starstruck upon seeing the casts of Downton Abbey.
“I think maybe the reason I fell off my Louis Vuittons is because we’re behind the folks from Downton Abbey and I’m such a fan of theirs, so that’s one of my shows. I mean honestly, I think there’s such amazing television,” said Capshaw.
Not only does the Grey’s Anatomy star love Downton, but she also seems to be a big fan of HBO’s Girls.
“We saw Lena Dunham earlier tonight and I thought I was also going to fall off my shoes.”
The 64th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, will air live on Sunday at 7PM ET, 4PM PT on ABC.
Grey’s Anatomy returns Thursday at 8PM on ABC.
