The stars are back in town!
On Monday, ABC kicked off the much-anticipated All-Stars edition of Dancing With the Stars, which saw the return of the show’s best and most-successful celebrities.
As one might imagine, the night’s competition was about as high as a high-kick from dancer Cheryl Burke. As judge Len Goodman put it best: “What was good has gotta be great, and what was great has gotta be exceptional.”
So, who lived up to the All-Stars title? And who fumbled under the pressure?

1.) Emmitt Smith Scores Touchdown
Football legend Smith proved there’s a reason he won Season 3 when he closed the show with an epic cha cha cha. The performance, which gave all end-zone dances a run for their money, earned huge praise from the judges and, naturally, the night’s highest total. Score: 24.5 out of 30
2.) Pamela Anderson’s No Good, Very Bad Routine
Anderson had the unfortunate honor of dancing to the night’s most ironic song, “You Know I’m No Good” — which is essentially the best way to describe her performance. The Baywatch beauty’s moves were nowhere near as good as her figure, leaving judge Bruno to declare, “You need to work harder.” Indeed. Score: 17 out of 30
3.) Bristol Palin, Comeback Kid
Though her score indicates otherwise, Bristol Palin returned to DWTS with a vengeance Monday night, dancing the cha cha cha with actual signs of poise, grace and, yes, even a personality. Sure, she’s got a long way to go still. But after Monday’s performance, could Palin actually have a stake in the competition? You betcha. Score: 19.5 out of 30
4.) First Lady Kelly Monaco Returns
As the show’s inaugural winner, Monaco arguably had the most to live up to heading into Monday’s competition. Did she pull it off? In a cha cha cha, yes. Looking even better than she did on Season 1, the soap star set the tone for the show just as she did back in 2005. Score: 21.5 out of 30
5.) Three ‘Cheers’ for Kirstie Alley?
In one of the most anticipated reunions of the night, actress Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy tried to set fire to the dance floor. The result: While their chemistry was undeniable, their cha cha cha lacked skill and, well, spark. On the plus side, at least host Tom Bergeron got a kiss from Alley out of it. Score: 19 out of 30
