NBC has renewed hit singing competition The Voice for two more seasons Tuesday.
The show, which has been garnering amazingly strong ratings as of late will have it’s fourth and fifth cycles in Spring and Fall 2013.
In a statement, chairman of NBC Entertainment Robert Greenblatt said, “This pickup will assure the many dedicated Voice fans that this innovative show will continue to bring some of the most talented new voices to the world’s attention through all of next year. ”
He continued, “With the addition of Usher and Shakira as rotating coaches to join Christina, CeeLo, Adam and Blake in the next cycle, we know that this incredibly addictive program will remain even more relevant as we move forward through this exciting season.”

According to Nielsen ratings, The Voice has averaged 12.9 million viewers on Mondays, and 12.5 million on Tuesdays throughout it’s first two weeks airing giving he show the No. 1 and No. 2 non-sports telecasts for broadcast networks for both weeks in the key 18-49 demographic.
It was announced last week that Usher and Shakira would be joining the show in its fourth cycle when current coaches Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green pursue their own projects.
Aguilera will be spending Spring 2013 on tour in support of her new album while Green will be working on new music in addition to a scripted comedy series for NBC based upon his life.
Current celebrity musician coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton will remain with the series through the fourth cycle.
The Voice airs Monday and Tuesday nights at 8 PM on NBC.
