Just when we thought Fifty Shades of Grey couldn’t get any hotter, Kellan Lutz says he wants in on the movie adaptation of the erotic novel.
The Twilight hunk has been spurred on to get involved after learning he is a fan favorite to star in the film.
But Lutz doesn’t want to play the raunchy leading man — the kinky billionaire Christian Grey — and instead has his sights set on another part.
Who is he planning to portray?
The 27-year-old told Parade that he wants to play Christian’s carefree brother, Elliot Grey, because he can relate to him more.
“I haven’t read the books: I need to though,” he admitted. “The fans saw similarities between Emmett (from Twilight) and Elliot. I don’t know much about either.”
He continued, “I know Christian is the lead but that’s why I didn’t want to play Edward Cullen. He wasn’t really like me. I’ll trust the fans.”
Rumors are still running rampant regarding the cast as both the studio and author E L James have kept mum who’s in the running for the lead roles.
Hollywood hunks Alexander Skarsgaard, Ian Somerhalder and adult film star James Deen have all been linked to the part, though there’s been no confirmation as who’s been approached with a script.
As for Anastasia Steele, a college student who gets into an S&M relationship with Christian, Pretty Little Liars stars Lucy Hale and Ashley Benson have both expressed interest in playing the role.
