‘Avengers’ DVD Release: 10 Things You Didn’t Know About the Movie (GALLERY)

After setting record after record at the box office this summer, The Avengers was finally — and we do mean finally — released on DVD Tuesday.

The superhero movie made headlines this year when it Hulk-smashed Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2‘s opening weekend record, earning a stunning $200.3 million in ticket sales. The Marvel flick also surpassed The Dark Knight‘s $158.4 million opening and 2012 inductee The Hunger Games‘ $152.5 million big debut.

What’s left to know about this blockbuster?

To celebrate The Avengers’ big DVD release, Celebuzz is counting down the top 10 things you don’t know (yet!) about this silver-screen success. Launch the gallery — above — to test your Avengers knowledge.

However, there is one thing that diehard fans do know: the Avengers will reassemble once again.

In August, Walt Disney Studios announced that an untitled Avengers‘ sequel will be released on May 1, 2015.

Filmmaker Joss Whedon has also been confirmed to write and direct again.

Since its theatrical release, The Avengers has grossed over $1.4 billion, worldwide, making it the third highest-grossing film of all-time.
