As if HBO’s Game of Thrones wasn’t epic enough.
When Celebuzz caught up with Emilia Clarke who plays the mother of dragons, Daenerys Targaryen, on the addictive show at the BAFTA Tea TV event on Saturday, she told us that in the new season, “Things just get even more epic if that was possible.”
Though she didn’t provide many specifics about what will go down in Thrones’ third season, she did mention, “Dany is turning into a bit more of a savior.” At the end of last season, we saw Dany get her dragons back from the House of the Undying.
We also spoke with Michelle Fairley at the BAFTA event. Fairley, who plays Lady Catelyn Stark, let loose the King Slayer Jamie Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) in an effort to get her children back at the end of the second season.
What did Fairley have to say about Season 3?
She teased on the carpet that we should expect, “lots of wonderful things. Brilliant, brilliant scripts. It’s bigger and it’s better. It’s wonderful. It’s been real fun to do.”
Fairley also told us she hopes, “that she gets her family back together” in the upcoming season.
When we last saw the Starks, they were all on their own. Rob (Richard Madden) was fighting a war, Arya (Maisie Williams) was being helped by the “Faceless Man” Jaquen (Tom Wlaschiha), Sansa (Sophia Turner) was released from her “marriage” to Joffrey (Jack Gleeson), and Bran (Issac Hempstead Wright) was off with Hodor (Kristian Nairn) to find Jon Snow (Kit Harington).
Both actresses also commended HBO and the writers for their genius in turning the dense George R. R. Martin books into what the series is today.
You can watch Clarke’s entire interview above and Fairley’s below.
