‘Don’t Trust the B in Apt. 23′ Producers Talk Season 2, Not Giving Up on ‘Dawson’s Creek’ Reunion (VIDEO)

When ABC’s Don’t Trust the B in Apartment 23 returns for its second season on Tuesday, it’s going to be a 90s-palooza – but that seemed to be the series’ Plan B. Dawson’s Creek fans would’ve been thrilled to see James Van Der Beek reunite with his Dawson’s Creek co-stars, but the timing just wasn’t right.

“First of all, I’d say never say never to that sort of thing,” executive producer David Hemingson tells Celebuzz at the show’s recent Paley Center event in Los Angeles.

“Obviously, there were other castmembers from the show who were busy and we would liked to have had,” he continues. “It was a surprising summer for everybody if you think of the Katie [Holmes] situation.”

“It’s a timing issue,” executive producer Jeff Morton interjects. “So, we made the best of it.”

Malcolm in the Middle star Frankie Muniz, Saved by the Bell (and currently TNT’s Franklin & Bash) actor Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Dawson’s Creek (now TBS’ Cougar Town star) Busy Philippsmake cameos on the Season 2 premiere episode after James’ plan to reunite his costars hits a snafu.

Watch more from our interview with the EPs  above. They talk about what’s new for June (Dreama Walker) and why Chloe’s (Krysten Ritter) upcoming romantic interest, guest star Ben Lawson, couldn’t get between her and bestie James.

Don’t Trust the B in Apt. 23 returns for Season 2 on Tuesday at 9 30 PM on ABC.
