Hollywood’s all abuzz this Friday and the name on everyone’s lips is Bond, James Bond.
Fifty years after the first installment in what would become one of America’s most profitable franchises, Bond is back, and critics are saying he’s better than ever.
Daniel Craig first put on the shiny black shoes of super-secret agent Bond in 2006 in Casino Royale, and proved to audiences everywhere that he could play the iconic Mr. Cool just as well as Sean Connery.
But this little-known Brit had to get his training somewhere right? No one does action hero that smoothly right off the bat.
Cue Lara Croft: Tomb Raider.
You all remember Angelina Jolie’s debut into action, but perhaps you’ve forgotten the face of her on-screen love interest, Alex West.
In the 2001 adaptation of the action-adventure video game, Craig plays fellow tomb raider and object of Lara Croft’s (Jolie) affection. The two have a strange love/hate relationship, but there is an undeniable physical attraction between them that makes for great screen chemistry.
Though the heroine Croft winds up saving West in the end (how very un-Bond like!), Craig exerts a bit of Bond-ness in his ability to finesse difficult stunts and exude manly charm. All he needs is a clean-shave and a well-tailored suit.
In this steamy scene, a West and Croft share a moment that borders on rivalry and romance.
