TV Buzz: The CW’s ‘Beauty and the Beast’ Gets Full Season; ‘Big Bang Theory’ Matches Series High Ratings Record

The CW’s Beauty and the Beast has been picked up for a full season. The drama, which is a reboot of the 1980s series of the same name, is averaging 2.4 million viewers. It stars Kristin Kreuk and Jay Ryan as the beauty and the beast, respectively. It is the second drama picked up from the net this season. [EW]

Thursday’s episode of CBS’ The Big Bang Theory matched a series high record for total viewers (16.5 million viewers) and a season high in the ad-coveted 18-49 demo to help CBS take the night in the ratings. Meanwhile the special Thursday elimination episode of NBC’s The Voice gave the singing competition its lowest ratings this season but still enough to beat FOX’s The X Factor. [Zap2it]

In other CW news, our favorite former principal on Buffy The Vampire Slayer, D.B. Woodside, is heading to the network’s Emily Owens, M.D. Woodside will play Dr. Gina Bandari’s (Necar Zadegan) husband and is set to appear on multiple episodes. [THR]

CBS’ The Mentalist has snagged Mary Lynn Rajskub for a guest role. The 24 actress will star as a rehab patient whose roommate is murdered. She will appear on the program in January. [TVLine]

Saturday Night Live vet Molly Shannon is set to guest star on TV Land’s Happily Divorced. The hilarious star will play Maggie who comes to LA to stay with her brother, Peter (John Michael Higgins). Peter is the gay man who lives with – and used to married to – Fran (Fran Drescher). The role will see Shannon and Drescher facing off against each other. Happily Divorced begins airing new episodes on Wednesday, Nov. 28 at 10:30 PM on TV Land. [EW]

MTV is giving you all the Teen Mom you could want this weekend as the network is airing a marathon of Teen Mom 2 beginning at 12 AM leading up to the Season 3 premiere on Monday at 10 PM. The network will also air three special after shows following big episodes on Tuesday Nov. 27, Dec. 3, and Dec. 24 at 11 PM. [MTV]
