Taylor Lautner‘s character in The Twilight Saga is known for going sans shirt throughout major portions of the films, but fans should know there is only one shirtless scene to ogle at in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.
“There’s only one in this one, but it’s a serious one,” Lautner told Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan when he visited Live with Kelly and Michael Friday referring to a scene in Breaking Dawn – Part 2 where he strips down.
Strahan joked with the actor, asking him whether or not he’d be keeping his shirt on in films now that the Twilight franchise is over.
“I hope so,” says Lautner. “At least a little more than this. It definitely comes off too much in this series.”
Speaking of his physique, the star told the co-hosts that “as soon as the franchise ended, it changed, my workout regiment, my eating habits – that bulk I had on wasn’t really natural for my body. I had to work really hard to get up there and work really hard to stay there.” He then indicated that no longer eating 15 burger patties and 8 meals a day made him lose some of what he had and he’s ok with that.
Ripa also asked the 20-year-old if there was some werewolf manscaping involved when filming the Twilight films, to which he responded, “You could say that.”
Lautner’s hot body was the topic of conversation on Today as well when the actor sat down with Savannah Guthrie earlier Friday morning. Looking back through his “body” of work in The Twilight Saga, the anchor showed him pictures of himself sans shirt in three of the four already released films.
“In the finale, Taylor, do you get a shirt? Is the question,” Guthrie asked jokingly.
“Of course I do,” he laughed. “I didn’t know you were talking literally my ‘body’ of work.”
Lautner, of course, also talked about the film while visiting both morning shows and addressed his character’s connection with Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward’s (Robert Pattinson) daughter, Renesmee, which some fans have called creepy.
“I wish I could (explain it),” he said. “The best person to ask would be Stephanie Meyer, the author of the books, and trust me, I asked her for explanations quite a bit. She tries to keep it simple for me, she’s like, ‘Look, Taylor, stop trying to overcomplicate it, it’s a lifelong bond between two people and that’s it.’”

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 hits theaters next Friday with special evening and midnight screenings on Thursday night.
