A heavy dose of family drama isn’t going to stop Ariel Winter from going to an event in Hollywood.
On Saturday, the Modern Family star was spotted in red carpet ready attire with sister Shanelle Gray and Gray’s daughter Skylar.
Winter, 14, is currently in the middle of a messy feud involving her mother Chris Workman.
The actress claimed in early October that Workman subjected her to “ongoing physical abuse” and “emotional abuse for an extended period of time.”
On Friday, a lawyer for Winter stepped up to speak on the young star’s behalf.
“Ariel is doing well and she has a lot of people who are loving her and supporting her at this time, and I’m pretty confident that she’ll fare well through all of this,” Amir Pichval, Winter’s guardianship attorney, told PEOPLE.
Following the October claims, which were filed in court, a judge granted temporary custody to Gray and ordered Workman to stay at least 100 yards away from Winter.
As Celebuzz previously reported, Workman has since stated that the actual reason her daughter went to court was because of a situation involving her 18-year-old boyfriend and the day Workman found them engaged in a sexual act.
According to the incident report we obtained, authorities made note of “suspicious circumstances, possible unlawful sex with minor,” after interviewing Workman, also in early October.
The next family court hearing for Winter and Workman is scheduled for Nov. 20.
