Twilight fans are making sure they’re first in line for Monday night’s L.A. premiere of Breaking Dawn – Part 2, with many traveling across the globe for the much-anticipated event.
Among them: a group of women from Down Under who left behind their children — and much more — to be among the first to see the final installment of Stephenie Meyers’ uber-successful series.
Amanda George, Lisa Trewren and Jessica Peachman — all in their late 20s — camped out for a chance to win a seat inside the Nokia Theatre, which will host Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Jackson Rathbone, Kellan Lutz, and other Twilight stars.
“I’m a single mom to a four-year-old boy… and I left him with my parents to come here,” said Trewren. “And my mom is battling breast cancer, and getting treatment while I’m here, so it’s a bit hard.”
That’s not all: in the days leading to the premiere, the three have doubled up to sleep in tents and awakened at the wee hours of the morning to shower at a nearby hotel. But there have been bright spots: the trio has bonded with fellow Twi-hards and enjoyed a Twilight film each night, group-led aerobic activities during the day, and surprise treats such as the “Berry Bitten Smoothie” specially created by Jamba Juice.
And their efforts have paid off: after setting up camp on Thursday morning, George, Trewren and Peachman soon had a spot in the event deck after Rathbone himself ensured it. In honor of the star, the women christened their group “Team Jack.”
