One Direction Announce 3D Movie, Perform ‘Little Things’ on ‘Today’ (VIDEO)

One Direction brought eager fans to tears Tuesday morning when they performed their current single “Little Things” on Today.

But, that wasn’t all. The dapper boy band also confirmed what might have been the worst kept secret in Hollywood: One Direction will release a 3D concert film in August 2013. “We’ve just gotten word that the movie has already sold out,” joked host Matt Lauer, who called One Direction’s three-song set in Rockefeller Plaza the NBC staple’s “biggest concert ever.”

“We have never, ever had a crowd this big. This one breaks all the records,” weatherman Al Roker declared.

One Direction opened their set with “Live While We’re Young,” the up-tempo lead single off their sophomore album Take Me Home. At one point, the boys — Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne — even broke out their signature dance move, much to the delight of excitable Directioners.

The lads also performed their breakthrough hit, “What Makes You Beautiful,” but it was their performance of the lovesick ballad “Little Things” that made Directioners burst into tears — especially Styles’ solo.

One Direction are slated to drop their third single from Take Me Home — “Kiss You” — on November 16.  ”It’s going to be fun actually, I think I’m going to play electric guitar in the show,” Horan recently told On Air With Ryan Seacrest

Asked if they’d pull girls on stage, considering the song title, Horan joked: “The song is very fast, so by the time we get them on stage it’s going to be finished.”

In spring 2013, One Direction will begin their sold-out world tour in the UK. Watch the boys perform “Little Things” below.
