Johnny Depp might be the best dad ever.
The A-lister invited British sensations One Direction to his Hollywood home to meet his super-fan daughter Lily-Rose earlier this week. Depp then treated One Direction to a jam session in his home studio.
The lads — Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and Liam Payne — were reportedly thrilled when they got the chance to jam with the Pirates of the Caribbean actor.
A source told British newspaper The Sun, “Johnny found out One Direction were in town and, after making a few calls, they came round to his studio. He brought out his piano and guitars for the boys to test and they had a little jam session.”
“Lily-Rose just watched with her blushing mates while her dad temporarily joined the world’s biggest boy-band,” said the source.
One Direction recently announced their plans to release a 3D concert film in August 2013. Now, the film has found it’s director in Super Size Me mastermind, Morgan Spurlock.
“I’m delighted we’re making this film and Morgan is the perfect person to give that access-all-areas, behind-the-scenes look into what it’s like to be One Direction today,” Simon Cowell said in a statement. (In addition to bringing 1D to the world via his show The X Factor, Cowell is also a co-producer of the 1D-in-3D film.) ”What the band have achieved is incredible, they and their fans have made history around the world — this is for them,” Cowell said.
Spurlock added, “This is an incredible opportunity and an amazing moment in time for the band. To capture this journey and share it with audiences around the world will be an epic undertaking that I am proud to be a part of.”
Look for One Direction’s 3D concert film to hit theaters August 30, 2013.
