Watch out Ellen DeGeneres, Ricki Lake and Bethenny Frankel! Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta and NBC’s The New Normal star NeNe Leakes is gunning for you.
“My long-term goal is to have a talk show,” Leakes told Celebuzz at TV Guide Magazine’s Hot List Party in West Hollywood on Monday.
“I love talk,” she continued. “I love meeting and talking to people, so I would love to have my own talk show.”
Clearly, Leakes is serious about the ambition. The mother of two tells us that she’s definitely in talks with people about the show and she’s aiming to launch in a year or two. And she’s been doing her homework on the best female talk show hosts.
“There’s so many girls that are great,” Leakes, 44, told us of her talk show role models. “I loved Tyra Banks when she was doing her thing. Of course, you have to love Oprah [Winfrey]. She’s the queen. I remember Sally Jesse Raphael. I watched all of those people doing talk. I’d like to be a little bit of each one of them. So that’s my long-term goal, I’d love to be a talk show host.”
Of course, she’ll have to find the time for it. She’s currently racking up the frequent flier miles traveling between her homes in Los Angeles and Atlanta. “I’m a flight attendant at this point,” she joked.
