‘Jersey Shore’ Star Snooki on Seeing Superstorm Sandy’s Destruction: ‘It’s Upsetting and I Cried a Lot’ (VIDEO)

Superstorm Sandy may have come and gone, but East Coasters are still picking up the pieces — including Jersey Shore‘s pint-sized dynamo, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi.

“My fiance has a house in Toms River — which is by Seaside [Heights] — and they have to knock that down because it’s completely destroyed,” the 24-year-old reality TV star told Celebuzz at Thursday night’s MTV fundraiser, Restore the Shore. “We didn’t get any damage to our house because we’re more North Jersey. We only lost power for a week or two so it wasn’t that bad by us.

“But at the Shore, I mean, it’s horrible.”

Snooki recently took a helicopter ride over the beloved boardwalk at Seaside Heights — where many of Jersey Shore‘s scenes — and the self-proclaimed meatball broke down upon seeing the massive destruction.

“Oh my god,” Snooki gasped as she flew over her old stopping ground, seeing that her favorite roller coaster in The Funtown Pier is now in ruins.

“It’s really sad,” she cried. “The rollercoaster that I always go on is in the water. There’s like no boardwalk.”

On Thursday night, Snooki echoed those sentiments to us.

“Who wouldn’t cry?” she said. “Just to see your second home destroyed. I mean, it’s upsetting and I cried a lot.”
