‘Twilight’ Stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner: Where Will They Go From Here?

With the Twilight movie franchise finally over, you’d think that its three stars would be hip-deep in screenplay slush piles, trying to decide which movie offer to accept next. But you’d be wrong.

In fact, Kristen Stewart has nothing on her plate now. After the theatrical release Friday of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2, she has the much-anticipated version of Jack Kerouac’s classic Beat novel On the Road, in which she plays the sexually freewheeling Marylou, opening on December 21. But beyond that, as she joked earlier this week, she’s “desperate for a job.”

Stewart may yet do a sequel to her summer hit Snow White and the Huntsman, though it seems unlikely that anyone will be able to watch a second installment without thinking of Stewart’s scandalous affair with married director Rupert Sanders during the production of the first movie. So that’s far from a done deal, and beyond that, Stewart has said she isn’t currently mulling other offers.

At least her co-stars Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner both have projects in the pipeline.

Pattinson is due to star opposite Guy Pearce in The Rover, a futuristic Western directed by David Michôd, who made the hit Australian crime drama Animal Kingdom. Next up is the small-town noir Hold on to Me, co-starring Carey Mulligan. And he’s expected to step into Peter O’Toole’s keffiyeh to play T.E. Lawrence in director Werner Herzog’s Queen of the Desert.

Lautner will be seen next July in a rare comic role, as a frat boy in Adam Sandler’s sequel Grown Ups 2. After that, he’s attached to star in a thriller, tentatively titled Tracers, about a bike messenger who becomes involved in the world of the martial art parkour. Some of the producers of the Twlight films are behind that movie; guess they were on Team Jacob all along.
